In 1946, the corporation adopted the name Doosan. In 1977, Daewoo Heavy Industries emerged as a division of the South Korean conglomerate Daewoo. Through collaboration with Hitachi, production of crawler excavators commenced, eventually leading to the development of the Solar model range.
Doosan acquired Daewoo Heavy Industries in 2005, bolstering its position in the construction equipment market. Initially, equipment was marketed under the Doosan-Daewoo brand, but by 2007, it was streamlined under the Doosan brand exclusively.Beyond construction equipment, Doosan Corporation produces a diverse array of products, ranging from food and beverages to engines, heavy equipment, and power plants.
